EPS (Electronic Prescribing Services)

The surgery now also provides EPS (Electronic Prescribing Services) which means your prescription will automatically be sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.

You can request EPS and should you be in to see the doctor / nurse and need the prescription in paper format immediately for any reason. Your GP can print a paper copy should it be required.

What Does EPS Mean for You?

This means if you currently collect your prescription from your GP surgery in paper format, instead your GP will send the prescription electronically to your chosen pharmacy (nominated pharmacy), this can be any pharmacy of your choice, whether it be close to home, work or where you do your shopping making it a more convenient way to collect your prescriptions.

Please ask the reception staff for further advice on ordering repeat prescriptions.

Is this service right for you?

  • YES, if you don’t want to go to your GP surgery to collect every prescription
  • YES, if you often collect your prescriptions at the same pharmacy most of the time or if you currently / plan to use a prescription collection service.
  • IT MAY NOT BE if you do not get many prescriptions.
  • IT MAY NOT BE if you regularly  collect your prescriptions from different pharmacies.

More information on the NHS EPS service is available in leaflet format from your GP surgery and most pharmacies.
